You’ll find me chasing the sun.
It’s been a couple of hours since the New Years have rung, but I still can’t help but reflecting everything that has happened in the past year.
January: Crushed Did well on the OATs. I’m so glad I only had to take it once. However, I was very content with my scores and thought that I would be a good candidate for optometry school.
February: Job at OMNI! Granted, while I was working 1 full day a week, my job was pretty much tedious, but it was definitely the beginning! Eventually I got the position of Opthalmic scribe and I love it! Everyday, I find myself super excited to become an OD!
Of course, my sister’s engagement was also one of the best things about this year! I really think that Jija is the best thing that has ever happened to my sister—and that’s a huge deal since I really feel that my sister and I have lived a blessed life!
March: NYC trip AND got to see Mr. Obama’s crib! The White House was definitely part of my bucket list, and it was so amazing to see. NYC was also so much fun! I’m so glad we got to do these little fun excursions with the sister.
April: Uhh…what did I do here again? LOL. Drawing a blank.
May: Finished my final Spring Semester as an undergraduate!
June/July: Grouped them together since it seems as if those two months always go hand in hand. But, I think I accomplished a personal goal of finishing OD apps, which pretty much gave me nightmares.
August: 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21 21
Did I mention 21? LOL! I am finally legal enough to purchase alcohol!! Even though it was in September, my 21st birthday in Atlantic City was amazing!!! Except for the part where I didn’t get carded, but that’s okay.
September: Got accepted into SUNY College of Optometry and PCO at Salus University! I ended up deciding on PCO for a number of factors. It’s just the perfect fit for me. And just to be a little bit of a jerk, I decided to cancel two other interviews (like a boss?) I can’t believe how much everything has put itself into place! I know I’m going to be an amazing Eye Doctor and it’s because I will work my ass off these next four years so I can be the best for the rest of my life. But it’s great that these schools have so much faith in me to eventually care for people’s sight!
October: Dad’s birthday party= success! I can’t tell you how much I love my daddy!
November: Sister’s engagement party = success
December: There wasn’t much that went on this month except, I officially became UMBC class of 2012 Graduate!!!! LOL! I guess that’s pretty huge ;) haha. I can’t believe I actually accomplished getting a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 3.5 years!! Reflecting on my time at UMBC, it was really a roller coaster ride. Some days, I just wanted to quit because I thought I would never accomplish anything, while everything was peachy for those around me. But in all honesty, I’m glad that I had some of the craptacular times. It just made me appreciate all of the good times that I had. Additionally, I can’t thank my friends enough for making my college experience memorable! <3
Reflecting on the past years, I cannot believe all that I have accomplished. It was definitely a good year for me, and I really look forward to more good years ahead. Well I have bid 2012 my farewells. Looking forward to a brighter 2013! As always, I will treat each day like a blessing, and will further my personal and professional dreams. 2013-You’ll find me chasing the sun
P.S,
